Holland Lop Colors We Have Had at our Rabbitry
Agouti
The Agouti group includes chestnut, opal, chocolate chestnut, lynx, chinchilla, squirrel, chocolate chinchilla, and lilac chinchilla. These bunnies look most like the "wild rabbits." They have bands of color and ticking on their fur. The fur has rings of color when blown into. The fur around their eyes, nose, mouth, bellies, inside ears, and under the tail is usually white or cream.
Wideband
The wideband group will be the orange, frosty, and cream colors. These colors will also have the agouti markings around their eyes, nose, mouth, and bellies but they do not have any ticking.
Self
Self colors include black, blue, chocolate, lilac, REW, and BEW. Self-colored fur is the same color throughout the strand of fur. They have no ticking nor do they have white agouti markings.
Shaded
The shaded group includes your torts. Torts can be blue, black, lilac, or chocolate.
Sable
The sable group includes Siamese Sable, Chocolate Sable, Sallandar, Seal, Seal Point, Blue Point, Chocolate Point, Frosty Point, and Smoked Pearl. The bunny will change color as it gets older. The shaded darker points will become darker over time. I have ever only had one sable kit.
Tan
The tan group includes otter and silver marten. Both of these colors come in black, blue, chocolate, and lilac. Otters are known for their tan markings around the nose, ears, bellies, and tails. Silver martens have similar markings but lack the tan pigment and have silver markings.
